It’s New Year’s Eve and I want to get a head start on my resolution. This year, I want to become healthy and fit, while losing weight.
I’ve always been thick. I managed to lose a lot of weight after high school and kept it off for a few years. In high school, I wasn’t necessarily “fat”; I just developed a womanly shape very early. After high school, I weighed about 155-165. I wore a size 8 and felt pretty good about my body. I’ve always been confident and weight isn’t a big issue for me. I met my husband and we got married. Of course, marriage isn’t easy, and at times it’s very stressful. I started eating like my husband and I switched jobs to a sitting type of job. Slowly, the scale creeped up and, BAM! I hit 257.
I was able to lose about 10 pounds and keep it off. But I got frustrated at my slow progress. We went on a vacation to Fiji (that’s where my husband is from) and his family kept commenting on how fat I’d gotten since the wedding. They didn’t mean to be insulting, as this is a good thing in their culture, but it really hit me hard. I lost another 10 pounds after that.
That brings me to today. I weighed myself and I’m at 233. Pretty good for starting out after the holiday. But I want to get my body back. So, here’s my plan:

    Eat clean
    Strength training
    30+ minutes of cardio daily

I’ll be more specific in future posts about what I’m eating and doing. As for my stats:

    Current weight: 233
    Current measurements:
    Chest- 43”
    Waist- 34”
    Hips- 45”
    Under butt- 43”
    Thighs- 27”
    Calves- 17”
    Goal weight: 160
    Goal measurements:
    Chest- 38”
    Waist- 28”
    Hips- 40”
    Thighs- 22”? (Not sure yet)
    Calves- 15.5”

I would also like to run a 10 minute mile and eventually do a triathlon. My timeframe for completing this is 7 months. But I’m not particular so long as I’m at my goals before next New Year’s Eve.

    Here I go!
